Welcome to Ready Kids January 23!
Today’s message is about COURAGE.
What do you think courage is?
Watch Esther's story or read it in Esther 5.
What can we learn from this?
1.. Esther had to have COURAGE to go and see the King, because she wasn’t supposed to but it was the right thing to do.
2. What did Esther do to have courage? She prayed and asked others to pray for her. We can do the same when we need courage - ask God for it.
3. God is with us when we’re afraid! The Bible says:
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6.
Pray Think of something that has been making you feel scared or worried, pray and ask God to give you courage.
Activities to choose from
1. Make a Courage Cup
Find a paper cup or any container around the house (check that you’re allowed to use it). On strips of paper write down some things that help you feel courageous (like God is with you!, You can do it!, Be strong and courageous, You are brave). Roll or fold the paper up and put it in the cup. You can open a piece of paper the next time you are feeling scared.
2. Make your own crown to remind you to be courageous like Queen Esther. See one idea for how here.
3. Recreate today’s story
With whatever you have at home (paper, lego, play doh) recreate today’s story to help you remember.
